A delegation of young and vibrant journalists under the auspices of Kaduna Young Journalists Association (KAYOJA) has earlier today paid a courtesy visit to Alhaji Isma'il Yusuf Ashafa (Sardaunan Ikulu) in his Kaduna office and congratulated him on his emergence as Blueprint Newspapers Hospitality Icon of the Year 2021.
Chairman and leader of the delegation, Mr. Nuhu Bashir Musa of News Harvest Nigeria eulogise Sardauna, describing him as a giant and crucial political figure whose vast knowledge and experience are needed for the transformation of Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
While responding to questions from the young journalists on how he feel on winning such prestigious award, Sardauna expressed gratitude to God by Whose power he emerged in that category out of over two hundred million Nigerians to win an award that is seen to meant for the country’s elite alone.
“Looking at the calibre of men nominated for the award ceremony that day, one can safely conclude that I was the least known winner in a league comprising Ministers, serving and former Governors, as well as Presidential candidates and former Vice President. I have every reason to be gratitude to God, to my family, my colleagues, my media crew, journalists and Nigerians in general.”
“It was on this basis that I declared right after being handed the award that I dedicate it to the less privileged Nigerians anywhere in this country. I will add that as one of the less privileges myself, we must remain resolute and committed in whatever we do because the world is watching and assessing us.” He said.
Further to the above, Alhaji Ashafa promise to work hand in hand with KAYOJA in ensuring that good leaders such as Sen. Uba Sani are elected into office in the forthcoming general elections.
