One of the nation's Confederation Cup flag bearers, Remo Stars will set the tone for the opening match at the 2022 Value Jet Cup in a local derby against Akeem Busari led side, Ijebu United on Thursday.
Thr Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, were pitched in Group A, with other two NPFL sides, Shooting Stars and fotmer League Champions, Plateau United. The remaining teams were drawn from the second tier of the nation league, National League (NNL) Vandrezzer FC and Ijebu United.
In Group B, the reigning NPFL Champions, Rivers United will file out against other strongholds: Kwara United and second placed NNL sides, Gateway United, Smart City FC and Lagos based outfit Otasolo FC will lay ambush for each other in the most prestigious Preseason Tournament, ValueJet Cup 2022
Remo Stars and Ijebu United opening game is slated for Thursday 25 August, 2022 by 6pm under floodlights at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne while remaining matches follow in that order
