Anambra Angels shock LifeCamp VC at National Division 1 League

Anambra Angels produced an outstanding performance to beat LifeCamp VC 3-1 (22-25, 25-17, 26-24, 25-23) in the women's match on day 4 of the ongoing 2022 National Division 1 Volleyball League in Kaduna on Monday.

LifeCamp started the campaign high winning the first set by 25-22 points before the young Anambra Angels turned the game around. The resilient Anambra Angels won the second set by 25-17 points while coming behind to win the third set by 26-24. The fourth set saw both teams take points share points side by side before Anambra Angels snatched the fourth set by 25-23 points.

Impressed by the Anambra Angels performance, the Coordinator of Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Spikers, Commodore Aliyu Pindah motived the team with the sum of 50,000 naira.

The head coach of Anambra Angels, Ijeomah Ndudi said, "It was an amazing outing against LifeCamp VC and I bless God for the victory. At the first phase, LifeCamp defeated us by 3-0 but today, it was a turnaround and we were able to beat them 3-1 this time around. I and my players are full of joy and excitement at the second phase of the National Division 1 Volleyball League.

Ndudi said his team will approach the remaining matches with high level of seriousness and hope to win them for individuals that believes in the girls.

He said, "We will give our best in our remaining matches and God's willing Anambra Angels will come out with victory because that is what we are hoping for.

"The young talent making the difference in my team is Ifunanya Udeagbala who happens to be a committed player and a serious minded player. She has been able to improve over the years and we thank God she is currently flying."
