As the Elrufa'i unity Cup football competition kick-started among the 23 Local Government areas of Kaduna state, some Local government football teams have begun to secure their first match victory in an impressive performance.
Giwa Local government football team which played against the Kudan Local Government football team in the first match of the competition at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, won by two goals to one.
The match between the Giwa FC and Kudan FC that ended two goals to one in favor of Giwa FC was attended by both the two local governments administrators and officials.
In an interview shortly after the match, the Giwa Local Government Council Chairman, Dr. Abubakar Lawal Shehu Giwa, expressed delight with the performance of the Giwa FC team which secured the local government a win in the first match, and urged the players to maintain the tempo.
Dr. Abubakar Shehu Giwa applauded the foresight of the organizers of the competition which he believes will promote peace, harmony, and unity in the state.
