The southern Kaduna born philantrophist, Alh. Ismail Yusuf Ashafa, Sardaunan Ikulu has been awarded as 'Democracy Icon Of The year 2022'.
This followed his tremendous effort on youth development, good governance and societal development.
According to the Convegner/Chairman of Kaduna young journalists Association (KAYOJA) Nuhu Basheer Masa, who presented the award to the winner said. Alh. Ashafa emerged winner after defeating Sen. Suleiman Abdu Kwari sequel to the Online poll that was lasted for 48hours.
The award reads that "In recognition of your selfless services to humanity, Sustainable development, good governance, and outstanding track records of performance towards the development of youth in kaduna state and Nigeria as a whole".
In his response while receiving the award, Alh. Ismail Yusuf Ashafa said that the award will spur him to do more in the society.
" I am very delighted to have been conferred with the award of Democracy Icon Of The year, it shows that whatever one does, it studied and noticed in the public space. I assure you that this award spur us to do more in the society, we will also ensure good governance and we will be more committed in the development of youth in kaduna state and beyond" Sardaunan Ikulu emphasised.
