Family of slain Kebbi Police Officer demands justice.

Family of slain Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Shuaibu Sani Malumfanshi has called for investigation into the alleged killing of their son, last week, in Kebbi state.

The father of the deceased, Malam Sani Malumfanshi made the call at a press briefing in Kaduna NUJ Secretariat.

Alhaji Sani Malumfanshi who is a veteran journalist also appealed to the security agencies to fish out and bring to book, those behind the killing of his son.

He explained that when his murdered son’s corpse was brought from Kebbi state where he was serving for burial in Kaduna, they noticed deep cuts around his heart region, while his neck was hanging when turned from all sides.

He said that the fact that his son was wearing white clothes but blood did not stain beyond the area where he was stabbed is a proved that the late ASP was over power by many accomplices to prevent him from struggling or retaliating.

Malumfanshi expressed concerned that more than a week after the incident, the Police is yet to make any arrest and commenced investigation on the issue, which he claimed that from all indication involved more than one person.

The veteran journalist, who said he will remain relentless in seeking justice over the murder of his son, to prevent future occurrence, appealed to the Federal Government, Police Service commission, the National Assembly and other relevant agencies to intervene in the case and save citizens from going through such painful experiences.

Meanwhile, the Kebbi State police command has stated that it has arrested one ASP Abdullahi Garba who was allegedly accused of stabbing ASP Shuaib Malumfashi to death.

The command spokesman, SP Nafi’u Abubakar, in a statement explained that the erring police officer has been arrested and currently in a detention for further investigation.

However, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP. Ahmed Magaji Kontagora condemned the action exhibited by the erring Officer which goes contrary to doctrine of the Police.

Meanwhile, The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora has vowed to ensure that justice is done in the investigation of the case involving one ASP Abdullahi Garba who was allegedly accused of stabbing ASP Shuaib Sani Mallumfashi to death.
The command’s spokesman, SP Nafi’u Abubakar disclosed this in a statement Birnin Kebbi.
He explained that the erring police officer has been arrested and detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Birnin Kebbi, while the case has also been referred to Homicide section for a discreet investigation.
SP Abubakar assured members of the public that the outcome of the investigation will also be made public.         
He said while condemning the action exhibited by the erring Officer, the State Commissioner of Police has also warned Officers and men of the Command to always live in peace with one another and report their grievances to the appropriate sections within the Force for redress.
