Family Doctors in Kaduna urges people to maintain positive lifestyle

As the world commemorates 2023 World Family Doctors Day, attention is focus on the need for people to maintain regular medical checkup and living a positive lifestyle.

This is as the office of the Vice Chancellor, Kaduna State University and Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital Kaduna organizes a one-day health talk on lifestyle, routine medical examination as well as free medical outreach at the university environment in commemoration of the day in Kaduna.

While giving the health talk, the Senior Registrar, Family Medicine, Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital Kaduna, Dr. Sayyid Mohammed highlighted having good diet, sound sleep, regular exercise and maintaining good and positive relationships as well as observing routine medical examination for early diagnoses as positive life styles that should be imbibe for improved Socio-economic growth and development of the country. 

On his part, the Vice Chancellor, Kaduna State University, Professor Abdullahi Musa who was represented by the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee, Barau Dikko Teaching hospital, Dr. Musa Shuaibu appreciated the effort of the State Government in the regular training of family physicians.

Also speaking, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Professor Musa Tabari called on the family physicians to maintain good relationship with people seeking medical attention as they are the first point of contact in the hospital. 

In a message to the day, the Head of Department, Family Medicine, Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, Dr. Habibatu Zubairu Dabo described the theme of the commemoration “Family Doctors: The Heart of Healthcare” as the true definition of the critical role of family physicians.

The free medical examination was carried out for the entire staff of the university as well as the students and other people present.
