Frequent content creation in Hausa language on internet, particularly Wikipedia is one of the sure ways of advancing the language to the international level.
This observation was made during a seminar on enhancing Hausa writing on WIKIPEDIA organized by WIKIMEDIANS Hausa foundation held in Kaduna.
In the present world, languages are being ranked based on their roles and the status assigned to them in the environment in which they are spoken as well as the number of their respective speakers.
Speaking after the seminar, the founder of WIKIMEDIANS HAUSA foundation, Muhammad Mustapha Aliyu said the seminar was organized to ensure the widespread of Hausa words and towns on internet.
Muhammad Aliyu challenged Hausa youths to avail themselves on Wikipedia for research and content creation to enable them confront the contemporary challenges.
Commenting, one of the Kaduna based Hausa Writer, Musa Daitu said the event will acquaint the participants methods and techniques of content creation in Hausa on Wikipedia.
Some of the participants interviewed applauded the giant efforts of the organizers, describing it as timely.
Participants at the events include experts on content creation, social media writers, editors and authors among others.
