Social media associates and the press team of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, on Sunday, took to the football field for a friendly match that left hundreds of supporters excited.
The match was organized to mark Zulum's 100 days in office.
The novelty match which was played at Government College football field, Maiduguri, featured two teams, each comprising of members from Governor Zulum's social media associates, the Borno Social Media Frontiers, Borno Community Watch, Borno APC New Media and the Borno State Government House press crew.
Zulum has within 100 days of his second term executed 77 projects, programmes, key releases and interventions.
Secretary to the State government, Malam Bukar Tijjani, announced scorecard on Monday, September 11, 2023, in a report.
The report, released to the public, enumerated all projects and their locations as well as other activities carried out from May 29, 2023, to September 6, 2023, which make up 100 days of the second term.
The 60-minute game ended 4 goals to 1 in favour of the Government House press crew.
Chairman of Magumeri Local Government who is also a coordinator of one of the leading social media groups, Engr Dr Ali Yaumi was named man of the match.
Zulum’s Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bundi, played alongside the 10-man social media squad.
Governor Zulum's Aide De Camp, DSP Ashigar Baba Kulbu, officiated the match while Borno State Multi-Sectoral Crises Recovery Project (MCRP) coordinator, Babazanna Abdulkarim, and the Senior Special Assistant on Publicity, Mr Lanre Obadiah played for separate team's.
