In an effort to complement the present administration’s sustained Manifesto Agenda in Kaduna state, KADA HIVE has embarked on training secondary school students in the state on computer technology skills.
The exercise titled ‘Techvoyage Bringing: Technology Directly to Schools’ is aimed at equipping students with basic computing skills in order to enable them confront contemporary challenges.
KADA HIVE is a communication and technology Hub that builds an ecosystem of start-ups, mentors, global partners, and government representatives to fill the gap between technology and industries in a human-centric way.
The hub has embarked on free computer training in private and public secondary schools for over six months, to help students in Kaduna state become computer literate.
Speaking after training students at Government Girls Secondary School Kabala Costain Kaduna, the Manager, KADA HIVE, Ndibisi Chukwumeka said, the hub will train over one million people on ICT in the state as part of Senator Uba Sani’s mandate.
Chukwumeka said Computer skills are needed in the development and sustenance of any nation’s educational system, and called on the students to keep on exposing themselves to technology.
One of the teachers interviewed in the school, Zainab Lamon, applauded KADA HIVE for the training saying it will help to augment their efforts in impacting computer knowledge to their students.
Some of the beneficiaries interviewed, Hassana Adamu Muhammad and Marry Musa expressed their appreciation for the training saying it served as an eye-opener for them.
Computer knowledge has become very essential in the promotion of national development, as such, education as the key to national development needs to embrace advancements in computer technology.
