Head of Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the last administration of Kaduna State have continued to appear before the Kaduna State House of Assembly investigating financial dealings and contractual liabilities on the state from 2015 to 2023.
The Chairman of the committee who is also the Deputy Speaker of the House, Barrister Danjuma Henry Magaji said that the exercise is not meant to witch-hunt anybody but to carry out its legislative function of ensuring accountability on financial dealings of the state as well as the implementation.
Barrister Magaji said that the committee has so far invited some key government officials it deemed necessary to appear before the committee with the sole aim of gathering testimonies that would aid the committee in discharging its duty.“You have to go and analyze whatever have been said before you, by the time we’re done we will invite you for the final reports.
He said, the Chairman of the committee assured the people of the state that the committee will discharge its responsibility diligently.
“The entire session was opened; I think I am happy that they have been honest in the discussion between us and those that appeared before us.” Said.
It could be recalled that the committee was set up by the assembly following a motion of public importance raised before the floor of the house on the financial dealings of the state bothering on loans and contractual liabilities on Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023.
