The court refused to grant bail to Nnamdi Kanu

The Federal High Court in Abuja, Nigeria has rejected a request by the detained Biafran IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu to be released on bail pending trial on treason charges. the federal government is suing him.

Justice Binta Nyako, however, dismissed the bail application saying the court would not grant him bail because he had violated his bail in 2017. She said the court wanted to know why he had violated his first bail before he looked for another one.

Ahead of Wednesday's court hearing, Nigeria's banned IPOD group imposed a curfew across the south-east to show its support for its leader.
