Senator Aliero and more than 30 APC leaders in Kebbi have defected to the PDP

Former Senator, Adamu Aliero, who defected from the ruling APC to the PDP, said the unfairness of the by-elections in Kebbi was one of the reasons for his resignation.

Aliero, a two-time governor of Kebbi and a former minister in Abuja, made the remarks in a statement stressing his displeasure over the APC's activities in Kebbi.

The former governor and three-time senator said he did not take the decision until he had consulted with supporters and stakeholders before deciding to return to a party that would do them justice in rebuilding the country.

Senator Adamu Aliero has defected with more than 30 party dignitaries in Kebbi, including former Kebbi governor Sa'idu Usman Nasamu Dakingari and Senator Yahaya Abdullahi and former deputy head of customs, Muhammad Mera.
