UEFA has apologized to Liverpool and Real Madrid

UEFA has apologized to Real Madrid and Liverpool after their fans were left in a state of shock during the Champions League final win over Madrid.

UEFA says the incident will not happen again in the future.

Liverpool fans say they have been harassed by police, causing chaos during last Saturday's game.

"No spectator should be put in such a situation and that will never happen again," a statement on Friday said.

The apology follows criticism from fans around the world over how many were barred from entering the Stade de France to watch the game despite having tickets.

French police say some tried to enter without a ticket, resulting in a delay of more than 30 minutes.
