Ghana has quarantined 34 people due to fears of Marburg disease

Health officials in Ghana have quarantined 34 people in the wake of the Marburg Ebola outbreak.

The men were detained after they came in contact with people suspected of killing the virus.

Authorities say they are monitoring the Marburg outbreak in the country, which has been reported in two locations in the southern Ashanti region.

A statement from the Ministry of Health said two people had died after testing confirmed they were carrying the virus.

Officials from the World Health Organization in collaboration with the country's doctors are expanding research and working hard to ensure the disease does not spread.
