The Northern Consensus Movement (NCM), is an Amalgamation of 593 affiliate Member Associations, that consists of Community Base, Socio - Cultural and Economic Inclined grassroot Associations, that serves as a Network of progressive minds from the 19 Northern States and FCT including Associations of Northerners Resident in the 17 Southern States.
The President of the 593 Amalgamated group, Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu,said we have have written letter which we address to the President of Nigeria and Kaduna state Governor.
"We called on the President Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna state Governor Senator Uba Sani to support the candidacy of former Governor Elect Senator Abdul'Aziz Abubakar Yari as Senate President of the federal Republic of Nigeria at the going interest by various Senator elect to cliche the number 3 sit in Nigeria.
The letter read in part, the Northern Consensus Movement (NCM), is soliciting His Excellency Senator. Ahmed Bola Tinubu the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to support our call to give support to His Excellency Abdulazeez Abubakar Yari from Northwest for 10th Senate President seat considering the voting contributions from the northwestern region in just concluded election which gave APC victory over all the parties.
"The North gave APC over Five Million Seven Hundred (5,700,000) votes and the Northwest produce over Two Million Seven Hundred (2,700,000.00) votes above all regions in the country, above all His Excellency Abdulazeez Abubakar Yari’s State produce the highest votes for APC above any other State in the Federation with over One Million (1,000,000) votes.
"You may wish to recall that, democracy is not all about religion or tribe, democracy is game of numbers and interest that is why the people from the north prepares voting Your Excellency Sen. Ahmed Bola Tinubu as their President above all the Northern Presidential candidates.
The Coalition Grps maintained that "we wish His Excellency Sen. Ahmed Bola Tinubu the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a world class democrat to allow the democratic principles to prevail in the process of electing the 10th President Senate, please.
