Zulum Explores Qatar Charity Foundation's Headquarters in Doha

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, embarked on a visit to the Qatar Charity Foundation's headquarters in Doha on Monday, captured in compelling photographs.

During the visit, Governor Zulum engaged with officials from Qatar Charity, expressing gratitude for the foundation's substantial investment in multimillion-naira projects in Borno earlier this year.

Zulum reiterated Borno State's unwavering commitment to partnering with Qatar Charity in addressing the root causes of insurgency affecting not only Borno but the entire northern region of Nigeria.

As one of the world's largest humanitarian and development organizations, Qatar Charity plays a crucial role in providing life-saving assistance to those affected by conflicts, persecution, and natural disasters.

The foundation also focuses on creating long-term solutions to poverty through sustainable development programs in social welfare, water and sanitation, education, nutrition, and economic empowerment.

Governor Zulum's successful engagement with Qatar Charity resulted in securing eight impactful projects for Borno, encompassing a school, orphanage, clinic, shops, staff quarters, sports ground, charity office, and Juma'at mosque.

Joining Governor Zulum on the visit was the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, who faces similar challenges of displacement due to banditry and other conflicts in his state.

Governor Zulum officially flagged off the construction of these projects in January 2024, marking a significant step towards enhancing infrastructure and addressing critical needs in Borno State.

The visit to Doha was part of Governor Zulum's entourage accompanying President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who engaged with investors during the trip.

Tinubu's visit culminated in the signing of agreements between Nigeria and Qatar across seven sectors: education, enterprise development, investment promotion, youth empowerment, mining, tourism, and sports.
