Deputy Governor Hosts Delegation Discussing Annual Tuk Ham Cultural Festival


In a significant meeting at her office, Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe welcomed a delegation comprising representatives from the Kpok Ham, President of the Ham Community Development Association, Reverend Jerry Andrew, Administrator of Jaba Local Government, Nita George, and Administrator of Kafanchan Municipal Authority, Phoebe Sukai Yayi.

The primary agenda of this meeting was to formally inform the Kaduna State Government about the imminent Annual Tuk Ham Cultural Festival. 

This event had faced a suspension four years ago due to prevailing security challenges in the Southern Kaduna area.

Expressing optimism and citing the improved security situation under the current administration, the President of the Ham Development Association conveyed the decision to host the week-long festival.

The Annual Tuk Ham Cultural Festival holds great significance as it endeavors to unite all Ham sons and daughters, both within the region and abroad. 

The delegation sought the support of Governor Uba Sani and Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe for the success of this cultural celebration.

The Ham Development Association president emphasized the cultural festival's potential to foster unity, showcase the rich heritage of the Ham community, and contribute to the broader cultural tapestry of Kaduna State.

The delegation extended a cordial invitation to Governor Uba Sani and Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, urging them to grace the occasion as special guests of honor.

Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe expressed her appreciation for the delegation's visit and assured them of the state government's support for the Annual Tuk Ham Cultural Festival.

She acknowledged the importance of cultural events in promoting understanding, unity, and appreciation for diversity among the people of Kaduna State. 

Deputy Governor Balarabe affirmed the government's commitment to providing an enabling environment for cultural celebrations that contribute to social cohesion and peaceful coexistence.
