KDSG imposes 24-hour curfew on Kaduna, Zaria after protest hijacked by hoodlums

The Kaduna State Security Council, has Imposed a 24-hour curfew on Kaduna and Zaria Metropolitan cities, following a hijack of the ongoing protest by hoodlums who attacked and looted shops on Monday.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Overseeing Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State, Samuel Aruwan.

It explained that the State Security Council under the leadership of Governor Uba Sani, took the decision following a review of the security situation in the State which indicated that the ongoing protest has been hijacked by criminal elements who have resorted to looting of shops and destruction of private and public property.

The statement therefore advised citizens to remain indoors while security forces continue to work to maintain safety and security. 

It added that close monitoring will be sustained for review of the curfew as required.
