ACSC recognizes Brig. Gen. Al-hassan Grema for exceptional service and representation

In a distinguished recognition, Arewa Consultative Synergy Congress (ACSC), a prominent Arewa Civil Society Organization, bestowed honors upon Brigadier General Al-hassan Grema for his exceptional service as a Nigerian Army officer. Gen. Grema served diligently and with discipline as the Force Commander of ECOWAS soldiers in Guinea Bissau.

The accolade took place during a presentation at Gen. Grema's new office at AFCSC HQ in Jaji, Kaduna, where he assumed the role of Director Coordination. Dr. Harris HM Jibril, the National President/Convener of ACSC, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and thanked God for having such an exemplary officer in the Nigerian Army. He also acknowledged the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) for recognizing Gen. Grema's worthiness.

Gen. Grema, a graduate of the 44 Regular Course of the Nigeria Defence Academy, demonstrated leadership from his youth in the Nigerian Air Force Military School Jos. Dr. Harris Jibril highlighted the officer's exceptional selfless service, emphasizing the need for Nigeria and especially Arewa to celebrate such a distinguished son.

As a Northern son from Borno State, Gen. Grema's exceptional service to his fatherland in the face of increased insurgency and global insecurity challenges was acknowledged. Dr. Harris declared that Gen. Grema has consistently shown professionalism and ethical discipline in his duties, both within and outside Nigeria.

In recognition of Gen. Grema's recent outstanding performance, the President of Guinea Bissau, H.E Umaro Sissoco Embaló, awarded him the National Order of Merit, Cooperation, and Development Medal. Gen. Grema, the pioneer stabilisation Force Commander deployed to Guinea Bissau in April 2022, played a crucial role in stabilizing the country after a failed coup attempt.

Under Gen. Grema's 17-month stewardship, Guinea Bissau experienced stability and peace, leading to increased economic activities and the return of NGOs and global organizations.

This positive atmosphere has prompted several countries, including the US, to consider reopening diplomatic missions and offices in Bissau.

In recognition of these accomplishments, ACSC, along with other Arewa organizations, honored Brigadier Gen. Grema with their highest symbol of recognition and Merit award. Dr. Harris encouraged leaders to emulate Gen. Grema's exemplary service and emphasized the transient nature of power, urging them to leave lasting legacies.

In conclusion, Dr. Harris congratulated the newly appointed Chief of Army Staff, expressing prayers for a successful tenure filled with exemplary leadership. He assured the COAS of ACSC's continuous support and prayers.
