Our concentration is set on securing victory in AFCON Final – Osimhen.

The CAF African Player of The Year,  Victor Osimhen,  has reassured Nigerians that the Super Eagles are fully dedicated to securing victory in the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

According to PUNCH Sports Extra, Osimhen conveyed this commitment ahead of the final against the hosts.

Nigeria advanced to the final of the 34th AFCON edition after a thrilling match against South Africa at the Stade de la Paix, Bouke. The Eagles secured a 4-2 win on penalties following a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes of play on Wednesday.

The Man of The Match, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, played a crucial role by saving two Bafana Bafana penalty kicks. In an Instagram live feed after the semi-final, Osimhen was urged by his injured compatriot, Victor Boniface, to arrange celebrations for the outstanding goalkeeper.

However, Osimhen, 25, responded to Boniface, emphasizing that the team's focus is solely on winning the final. He stated that any celebrations would only take place after they secure their fourth title.

"We're not considering that at the moment; our concentration is entirely on the final. We remain focused and will stay focused until we clinch the trophy," he affirmed.

Osimhen's declaration serves as a comforting message to the countless Nigerian fans eagerly awaiting the clash between the Super Eagles and the Elephants in the AFCON final.
